checking in…

It has been a long time since I have updated. Sorry about that. I have been super busy with my college class…which is a math class this semester and work. Work is going great. It has been a good year and we have really good kids. It is hard for me to believe that it will be over soon and my kids will go on to Kindergarten. It is sad for me.
The year has been a little rough on us. Karl’s van broke down in January and we are not able to pay for it yet, so we pulled Josh from his reading tutoring in February to save for the van. Well, just about as soon as we pulled Josh from tutoring, Karl was laid off. We also owe money this year for taxes. It is crazy. I just laugh about it. We will make it through. I know God will take care of us. Karl has more recently worked a few days here and there, but is not sure for how long. I do think it sounds like he will be back to work full-time by summer or so. That is the good news. It is scary, the guys in construction are all calling around to each other trying to find work. There is just not much work out there.
I am currently on Spring Break at college, but working at the pre-school and next week I will be on Spring Break at the pre-school and be back to classes at Missouri State. I am looking forward to sleeping in next week.
Well, I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted to check in. I have been the worst blogger. Have a nice week!! Happy St. Patrick’s Day next week!! :patty: :patty2:

cold start to a new year

We had a lot of fun at Karl’s family’s Christmas party. They had the 4-wheelers and they pulled the kids on sleds with them. They had a great time and the kids got lots of great presents. Karl’s mom made tons of wonderful food too. :winter2:
The snow has just kept going here. We have been out of school all week except Wednesday, then it snowed again Wednesday night and we were out the rest of the week. It is cold, so we have just stayed in and tried to stay warm. Karl has been working, but he is working inside. :winter1:
I think it is supposed to warm up next week…above freezing anyway. I start my college class Monday. I am taking Math for Educators this semester. Math is not my strong area, so I am taking it by itself. I will have class Monday and Wednesday night from 5:30PM-7:10PM, so I will be home earlier. I am looking forward to that.
There is not much else going on here. We are just trying to stay warm. Have a nice weekend!! Happy New Year!! :ny2:

New Year almost!!

Thank-you for the help with my blog issues. I just do not know what to do. It seems that it is internet explorer along with wordpress. It seems other browsers are fine here at my blog. I use IE8 and it does fine, but I also know that some of you use IE8 and still have trouble,. so I do not know what the problem is and I really do not know how to fix it. If you use IE8, there is a broken page up by the refresh button, if you click it, it will help you view websites that are older like mine.
Anyway, Tuesday Josh and I went to a birthday party of a little boy that goes to the pre-school. It was a lot of fun and I hope he had a wonderful birthday!! Today we had a visitation to go to. It was a friend of Karl’s family. The funeral is tomorrow. Karl is going, but I am going to take Josh and go visit my parents tomorrow. If I do not, I will not get to. I plan to put away the Christmas decorations on Friday and I have this spare bedroom that needs cleaned up on Saturday. I also need to clean the rest of the house because Karl’s family is having Christmas at his parents house on Sunday. Then I go back to work on Monday. It has been nice having some time off. I wish it wasn’t so busy. :winter1:
I better get off of here, I will try to make blog visits again soon. Have a nice day and Happy New Year!! :ny1:

almost a new year….

We had a really nice Christmas. We ended up going to my mom and dad’s even though it was icy that morning, the roads melted by noon or so. Josh was happy to get the games he wanted for his computer and I got some money as well as earrings and pajamas. Josh got me a frame that says “No Ordinary Mom”, and Karl got me a digital camera. Karl got a laptop.
Today Josh and I went to Kohl’s and I spent my Christmas money. I got 3 sweaters and a puffer vest and one short sleeve shirt to wear under one of the sweaters. I love the new clothes. I hardly ever get to go clothes shopping, so that was a treat. Tomorrow Josh and I are going to a birthday party of one of the kids from the pre-school. This has been a busy break for me. I do not like that, but we have been doing fun things. :winter2:
I am going to get off here. I spent the evening trying to update this crazy website. The new IE8 has the compatability view button at the top of the page by the refresh button and my site has not been loading. It would load for me when I pressed that button, but some of you are still not able to post comments. I found a code, hopefully that will help, but I am worried it will not. I noticed many blog pages are not compatible with IE8 and yet many can post at those blogs. Let me know if you can post or leave a comment, or let me know at facebook. I am not sure what is wrong with wordpress now. :winter1:

**UPDATE**- I took the code off the page, it didn’t seem to help?

Christmas Plans…

 emoticon

It has been a busy week. Monday, Josh and I drove to my college and tried to pick up a book for next semster, but they were out of the book. I would normally just buy the book online at half.com or amazon.com, but this book is written by the university professors. I thought it was weird they were out. Anyway, so we left and went to the post office, I have been waiting on books for 2 weeks for the pre-school and they never came. They didn’t come on Monday either, so I called Scholastic and had them re-ship our books, which were Christmas presents for my students and other books the parents had ordered. Then I ordered my text book for class and am having it shipped to me when it comes in. Tuesday, we had a Christmas party and that was a lot of fun. Today I just washed some rugs and relaxed a little bit. I plan to do some baking tomorrow. We are supposed to go to my parents house for Christmas, but it is supposed to snow, so we will make a back up plan just in case. We have a turkey in the freezer and we can always make that with the goodies that go with it. We will see what they say tomorrow about the weather. Karl, Josh and I plan to open presents tomorrow night…Mandy too and snack on goodies and have fun. Well, I am going to drop by some blogs and see what everyone is up to. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!! :x mas3: :x mas1: :wreath:

almost done!!

I turned in all of my papers for the class I mentioned in my last post. I turned them in last week, so I just have my Final and I am done. We have one last class and then the Final. The other class we have a test on Tuesday night and the teacher said if we are happy with our grade we do not have to take the Final, so I am hoping I can get a good grade and I will be done on Tuesday night with that class. I have registered for next semester and I am taking a math class…it is math for teachers…how to teach math basically. It is Monday and Wednesday night, but it is only from 5:30PM-7PM, so that will be nice. I can get home earlier.
We start Christmas projects at the pre-school this week, I am excited. The pre-school is all decorated for Christmas and the kids love it, they like to play around the Christmas tree. :x mas3:
Josh had his cousin Keifer up on Friday and he spent the night and then Josh had a birthday party to go to Saturday evening, his friend Malena. Then Malena and her mom (Malinda) came over today (Sunday) and we all watched the parade. It goes in front of our house. It was good, we had a lot of fun. I hate for the weekend to end. It has been fun. I love the holidays. :x mas1:
I have a teacher’s conference again on Wednesday, it is part 2 of the conference I went to last Monday. It is called Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plans. It is ok I guess.
Well, I better get off here and do some laundry. Have a great week!! :wreath:

holidays…

We had a lovely Thanksgiving. The food turned out great and I was able to get the house decorated for Christmas that evening, well some of it. Karl was able to relax and watch football and Josh had fun playing. :x mas3:
Karl went out Black Friday shopping as he always does and had a great time. He got a laptop and some other things. He got the updated Microsft Office for me, it was on sale everywhere here, so I am thinking they must be getting ready to release a new version. The version I had was really old, so I am happy to have this one. Then we finished our Christmas decorating last night, the tree and the outside.
We are almost finished with our Christmas shopping. I am excited about that. I better not post what we are getting everyone, they might find out. I hope they like their gifts though. :wreath:
Today I am meeting my friend Lindsey from one of my classes at the library and we are going to work on our last project for our class. This is our last paper for that stupid class. He gave us 20 papers to write this semester and I am not kidding. It has been rough, I am ready for this semester to be over. I have have about 2 more years and I will be completely done. I am ready. :winter2:
It was nice to be able to visit some of you this morning. I do miss blogging. I am going to try to catch up with everyone over Christmas Break. I will have more time. Have a nice week. I have a teacher conference to go to all day on Monday and then night class. I think we have 3 weeks until Christmas Break!! See you then!! :x mas1:
