We are going to church today and then I need to start my laundry. I got Joshua’s domne yesterday because he is going to my parents house after we get out of church and I needed clean clothes to send with him. They pick him up around 2:00 or so.
Well, let’s see. This is my last week of Summer School. We will review in Math on Monday and I have a test on Tuesday in there, I have a poem to recite on Wednesday for Literature, a Final on Thursday in Math and a Final on Friday in Literature. I also have a poetry assignment in there too, but I am not sure what day it is due. It will not take long though, so I am not too worried about it. Friday about noon Joshua and I are going to Oklahoma to see Granie before school starts. We will be back on Sunday (next Sunday). I will try to post before then though. Have a nice week!!

I did not get the house cleaned yesterday. I will attempt to do it today. I just layed around yesterday and enjoyed myself.
My dad called last night and my parents are going to drive Joshua and I to Oklahoma to see my Granie on Friday. I was planning to go just me and Joshua, but they decided to go too, so that will be nice. I have a Final really early that morning, so it will be nice to not have to drive that day. We will spend the weekend and come home Sunday. Joshua’s birthday is Saturday.
I got my In-Service schedule for the pre-school in the mail yesterday. I have to go to one on August 9th, so much for me having a week off before I go back to school. I also have doctor’s appointments that week. Joshua goes Monday and Mandy Friday..the in-service is Thursday.

Today I do not have any homework to mess with, but I do have a very dirty house. I need to get it cleaned up. Then I just want to relax and try to enjoy some quiet time. I will be by to visit blogs and then I will clean house. Have a great day!!

:: Friday Forgetfulness ::

1. Is there any one thing that, no matter how many times you have done it, you can never remember? I always have a hard time remembering how to change the ink cartridge in the fax machine at the pre-school.
2. Are you the forgetful one in your family, or are you the family’s human Post-It note? I am the Post-It note, but no one ever bothers asking me anything.
3. What is the biggest thing you have ever forgotten? How did it turn out? I never forget anything hardly, I do remember last year Joshua was having Spirit week at school and I forgot to dress him in the spirit theme clothes. It turned out fine. He could have cared less. I was busy with getting final things done at the pre-school and it slipped my mind.

The week has gone by really fast. I got my papers all turned in and my booktalk went well, I even calmed down enough to enjoy giving part of it. I hate public speaking, it usually makes me physically ill. I did ok though. I got an A, but I am glad I was able to calm down enough to enjoy talking about the book to the class. We got our evaluations back and I did one section of mine wrong, she said we can make corrections, so I worked on that today. I went over my paper and it didn’t make any sense, I was too tired when I wrote it. We (the class) had so much going on. I was so worried about that crazy book talk too, but hopefully I have it fixed now and I do ok on the paper. I left some citations off of my other paper (the research paper), so I had to fix that too, most of the class had corrections to make, we were just doing everything so fast. I had a picture book assignment to do today too, it was fun though, I love picture books. I will turn those back in tomorrow and she will have them back to me by Monday probably. I cannot believe this week is almost over. I have class tomorrow and then next week is the last week of classes. I have to say, I am ready.
I gave Mandy a bath today after I finished my homework. I better go, I will be by to visit Friday. I am hoping it will be a quiet day that I will not have so much homework, I do not think I will have much if any. I need to clean house. I want to visit blogs too. I will see you all Friday!! I got my papers done!! I am so relieved!! Connie asked what books we had read. It is Children’s Literature, so these are children’s books….
we read ” Where The Wild Things Are” (picture book), “Charlotte’s Web” (fantasy), “Bridge To Terabithia”(realism), “Dragonwings”(historical fiction), “The Best Bad Thing”(realism/historical fiction), “Best Loved Folktales” (folktales), “Children of the Dustbowl”(non-fiction), “Knock At A Star” (poetry), special assignments: The Polar Express-group assignment for picture book and we will have a group assignment for a poem too. We also had to pick a book to read that we were the only one reading and do a book talk and Book Evaluation, I read “One-Eyed Cat” (realism). I do my Book Talk on Tuesday and the evaluation will be due then too. We did a research paper over Dragonwings also due Tuesday, I did the 1906 Earthquake in SF. We did a Reader response paper for Best Bad Thing due Monday…we had to write about how we personally related to this book. We had to prepare discussion questions over Bridge To Terabithia, we had to act out/tell a Foltale and we will have to present a poem. I will be reciting “Caterpillar Garden” by Helen H. Moore. Anyway, that is about it. I have everything done except we have the two group assignments left over the poetry and picture books. She will lecture end of this week and next week over those and I will fill my questions out then. We also have quizzes over each book or story and we had a midterm and we will have a comprehensive final. I think I am all set for this week though.
My mom and dad will pick Joshua up today and he will come back on Tuesday night.

Well, I am doing good with my papers. I got one finished yesterday and I also got my Book Talk ready. Today I just need to write my Evaluation for the book that I read. It is our “big” paper, so I need to take my time with it and do a good job. It is worth a lot of points. We have to make sure to put certain things in the paper…we have an outline to follow. Once I get these papers done I will only have a couple of assignments left to do in that class, and they are not such a big deal. I cannot do them now though because she has not covered the material. I do not know how to answer the questions yet. I am hoping by Wednesday I can do some work on them since I do not have night class. These papers I am writing are over each book we read. We had to read about 9 novels, we are being quizzed over all of them and we have to write papers on some of them, so that is what I am doing. I had my midterm last week and we have a Comprehensive Final August 3rd. I am really not sure this class should be offered as a block class (4 weeks)…it is hard to balance all of this. It is 16 weeks of information in 4 weeks. That is hard with Literature because of the papers and reading.

It has been a really busy week, so I will just make one blog for the whole week.

Monday- I had my Oral Tale presentation in front of the class. It went well I guess, I got an A. That afternoon and evening I had to study for tests.
Tuesday- I had tests in both of my classes, we finished our test in the literature class and she told us we had a quiz to take online too, so I took that then studied for my night class test. I got B’s on both of those tests and an A on the quiz.
Wednesday- not much going on in my morning class and I do not have night class, so I got 2 papers written for my Literature class. I have 3 more to go!! This is ridiculous.
Thursday- I took a nap in between my classes, I was so tired. Then after my night class I started another paper for Literature.

That brings me to today!! I need to get that paper in order and get it typed then maybe start another paper. I will continue with this tomorrow. My papers are all due Monday and Tuesday. These are not small papers either. One is a research paper, a reader response paper, book evaluation and a book talk. There was one small one, it was a poem, I did it first. It is actually not due until the last week of class. I only have 2 weeks of class left this Summer! It has gone fast!!
