My Granie’s funeral went well and it was really pretty. We went to Granie’s house after the funeral to eat and visit and that was a lot of fun. We also went to visit my Uncle Joe…my dad’s brother who had some puppies. We took some of the kids, my cousin’s kids went with us, it was a lot of fun. When we got back my Uncle Dwain (my mom’s brother) suggested they go get my Granie’s Will out of the safety deposit box and read it. My mom got upset and they all started yelling at each other. Then my Uncle and my dad got into a fist fight. I was mad, so I was like, you all need to calm down, there are little kids outside and you are scaring them. I left and me, my cousin’s wife and her daughter took the kids for a walk so they couldn’t hear the yelling. My husband Karl had to get into the middle of all of them and try to calm them down. When we got back from our walk, my Uncle his wife, my mom and dad went to the cemetery to see Granie’s grave. When they got home, we said good-bye and started home. I talked to my cousins while my mom and Uncle were gone. It is all a big mess. I just wanted to come home. That is part of the reason I didn’t want to stay or go down early, I was afraid they would fight. I actually thought they would get along for the day of the funeral, but I guess I was wrong. I am glad to be home, I am just going to relax. My homework is done. Have a nice day. I am doing pretty good by the way. Thank-you so much for all of the prayers!!
Granie passed away early this morning 12:30 AM. She had been doing a little better, eating and drinking. She was able to communicate with family. It was nice God gave that time to all of us to visit with Granie. Granie came home on Friday, so she was able to be home when she passed, which is what she wanted. That is what she had said she wanted for the past several years. My Granie told my mom yesterday to “tell the guy in the wagon to come back for me, I am tired”…then she went to sleep. She woke later and asked my cousin Brooke to make her some coffee. Brooke made her a cup of coffee and Granie told her it was the best cup of coffee she had ever had. The she peacefully passed away. My mom and Brooke (my cousin) were with her when she passed. Josh and I were able to go and see her last Wednesday, so at least we got to see her and tell her we loved her her before she passed away. The funeral is Friday at 10AM. Rest in peace Granie in the arms of Jesus.
The latest on my Granie is that she is home and doing a little better. She had a bowel movement, I know that is gross to post, but the nurse told us when she was in the hospital that her bowels were not working anymore and that was why they were not feeding her. I am not sure what to make of that. Granie is eating liquid bland foods now and my family says she is doing much better. The hospice people will help out 2 days a week. My family says she is much more alert and is talking to them. Thank-God for all of that. It is amazing!! It was still a crazy week, I wouldn’t have imagined it would end like this. I was told Monday night that she would not make it through the night.
Josh and I stayed home this weekend. I had way too much homework to get done, but I worked on homework most of the day and it is finished. I finished my project due on Monday night and I also have a big project due for my other class that is not due this week, but the next, it is done too. I figure we will get an assignment in my Monday class, so I will be able to focus on that and maybe I can get it finished early in the week and go to Oklahoma to visit Granie next weekend with no worries of homework.
Today we are going to church, then do laundry and clean house.
I have night class on Monday, but we do not have class Tuesday night, thank-God for that too!! I need to be home to relax a bit. Have a nice week, and keep praying for my Granie. I appreciate it.
Josh and I went to Oklahoma yesterday to spend some time with Granie. She was awake most of the time and talked to us. She knew who we were. My family was saying she seemed so much better that day. We came back home last night. My dad called earlier and said she was even better today and that she was coming home tomorrow. Now, with that said, the nurse told us (me and my cousin), that her organs were shutting down and it was just a matter of time. The rest of the family has already been told that, but we weren’t there. Anyway, Josh and I will go back Saturday to visit again if all is well. Granie will have hospice in taking care of her at her house. The wonderful thing is that she wanted to die in her own home, so maybe that will be the case. I do not mean to sound do dismal, but I do not think realistically she can bounce back from this. I know we all wish she would, and who knows, but I would rather be prepared. It was nice seeing Granie. The whole immediate family was there. They all live in Oklahoma, so they have been great about visiting her this whole time. My mom lives here in Missouri, but she has been there too. I will try to keep you posted as I have time. Thank-you so much for the prayers!!
My dad called last night when I was at class, so I called back when I got home and he said my Granie had a heart attack and was in I.C.U. He called back in the middle of the night and told me the doctor said she would not make it through the night. I was so upset, I only got 3 hours of sleep, so I am home and I wanted to update my blog while I had a minute. I left work early so I could get some sleep. I have another class tonight. My Granie is still alive as I type this, but she is bad. My dad is on his way to Oklahoma. I will see what he has to say later today or this evening. If I disappear for a while you will know why. Take care.
It was a normal busy week for me with work and college classes. Just the same ol’ routine. Karl hit a deer in our van on Thursday night, so that is going to have to be fixed. He is fine and the van (bumper) doesn’t look that bad, but I am sure it will be expensive to fix. We have a $500 deductible.
I do not think I mentioned it, but my Granie is in the hospital, she fell about 3 weeks ago and has a bruised hip. She also has a severe kidney infection. They put her on anti-biotics, but she is just now starting to get a little better. They are saying she may be able to come home on Friday the 17th. They are doing therapy with her for her hip, I guess she is pretty bad. If you think about it, will you say a prayer for her? My mom and Uncle are taking turns staying with Granie round the clock at the hospital.
We are going to church today and then I have to clean house and do laundry. I better go. I will probably not be able to visit blogs, I need to do some reading for one of my classes. Have a nice day and week ahead too!!
I finished my Halloween pages yesterday, I posted the link over on the left if you would like to take a look. It was fun to get to do something that I wanted to do instead of my whole weekend doing homework. I did study some for my test on Monday night and I will study some more today. Karl and I also got our house decorated for Halloween.
We are going to church this morning, then we will come home and I will do some housework and laundry. I also need to study.
My dad is coming up after church to take Josh for ice-cream, he will enjoy that. I am going to try to visit blogs again today too. Have a great day!!
I am a 37 year old wife and mom. My son Joshua is 10 years old and I have been married for 11 years to my husband Karl. I teach at a pre-school and I am a Christian. We live in Missouri. I hope you enjoy your visit and come back very soon.
